About this Book:

THIS is the humbling and incredible story of Revd Theodore Hardy, VC, DSO, MC, who was the most decorated civilian of the Great War. Even more incredible is the fact that he was 54-years-old when he was decorated. His story of selfless heroism is an inspiration. He won his decorations not in hot blood and anger, but in cool tenacious courage. He was killed in 1918, just a few days before the end of the war.

Before the First World War, Hardy was a schoolmaster at Bentham, near Lancaster and an unassuming country vicar at Hutton Roof, near Kirkby Lonsdale.

About the Author:

David Raw was educated at Bradford Grammar School, Trent Park College and London University, where he graduated in history and education.

He was headmaster of Stanwix School, Carlisle, and has five children. His interest in T B Hardy began when he first saw the memorial tablet in Carlisle Cathedral.
