Previous Projects

Books, magazines, reports, brochures, exhibition stands and leaflets - we've designed and produced them all. Hayloft can work from your ideas whatever stage they are at. We can write your report, provide photographs and design the final product or we can work from your original material or artwork.

Some of the projects Hayloft has undertaken are:

  • Researching, writing, illustrating and designing exhibition boards for Rheged Discovery Centre.
  • Designing the 21st Century Farm report for an European Union project
  • Designing Ice Talk magazine for an international environmental organisation
  • Producing educational brochures for several local colleges
  • Researching, writing, illustrating and designing newsletters for the Alzheimer's Project and Eden Arts
  • Researching, writing, designing and illustrating a variety of brochures.

The Westmorland Messenger

The Messenger was a 19th century newspaper which was revived nearly a hundred years later to serve the upper Eden and Lune valleys covering news from Appleby and Kirkby Stephen.

The story of the newspaper's development from A4 monthly newsletter to the first fully fledged all digital newspaper in the north of England was published in Production Journal in January 1999. The Westmorland Messenger finally stopped being published in December 2008.

Ice Talk

Hayloft designed and produced 'Ice Talk' magazine for Mission Antarctica an international environmental organisation headed by polar explorer Robert Swan. The magazine reported on a variety of polar issues, especially those relating to UNESCO young explorers.

One of the highlights of 'Ice Talk' magazine was raising awareness of 1000 tons of rubbish at the Bellingshausen Research Station on King George Island.
