About the Author:
Adam Day was Livestock Director of Mitchell's Lakeland Livestock Centre, Cockermouth, a new auction mart complex at the edge of the northern Lake District that was developed before the end of the Foot and Mouth Disease crisis. He fought on the front line in the battle against FMD in Cumbria. He was brought up in a hill farming area near Cockermouth and was educated at Cockermouth Grammar School and the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester.

Reviews:

This book doesn't half bring the nightmare flooding back. And it reminds me that Adam's a better writer than he is a rugby player! Mike Sanderson, formerly of the National Farmers Union.

The FMD Crisis devastated Cumbria, and other areas. This bok is one man's recollection of that event and, with other sources, will form a valuable record of events. Brigadier Alex Birtwistle.
