About the Author and Illustrator:
Valerie Salter trained as a teacher at Durham followed by teaching posts in the North East and South West of England. In her last school she was both science and art coordinator. She did voluntary work for the Children’s Society and renovated organised and managed a Save the Children fund shop on Exmoor for which she was presented to Princess Anne at Dunster Castle. ?Her mission as a writer is to encourage a love of books in children. Her books are best enjoyed being read aloud to them from a very young age.

Jess Thompson-Gray is an artist and animator from Cockermouth, Cumbria, currently living in Carlisle. Jess graduated with honours from the Arts University at Bournemouth with a 2.1 in Animation Production. She has worked with Cumbria’s Cloudscape Studios to produce illustrations and animations for their in-house short films and creative commercials (including work for Story Homes, Stobart Rail and GoodPractice). Jess has a passion for animation and storytelling, and is keen to continue creating and exploring new ideas.
